The NFL just made wiping your nose a 15-yard offense, and it may be Young Thug's fault.
The penalty was quietly announced during the NFL's annual rule change meeting. ESPN’s Ben Solak then helped the update go viral on X, sharing a screenshot of the league's new rulebook that now outlaws the “nose wipe” as a celebration, categorizing it under “violent gestures” alongside throat slashes and fake gun motions.

The NFL's competition committee said it wants to crack down on taunting, baiting, and other displays that “engender ill will.” Apparently, wiping your nose falls under that umbrella.
The gesture has been in the spotlight since the YSL RICO case, where prosecutors argued it signaled gang affiliation. Lyrics from Thug’s tracks “Eww”, “Sup Mate”, and “Do It Like” were all cited as evidence that YSL is a violent organization.
Thug's attorney, Brian Steel, pushed back by showing a montage of athletes like LeBron James, Stefon Diggs, and CeeDee Lamb using the move in celebration. Lamb, who regularly busts out the nose wipe, publicly responded to the NFL’s rule change on Twitter.
smh, i have plenty in mind😒. https://t.co/rn0OliWbb4

The league might not single out Young Thug, but the message is loud and clear: no more wiping your nose on Sundays.
What do you think?
