Young Thug throws free concert in front of Atlanta courthouse

Young Thug surprised his fans yesterday (Sunday, September 28) with a free concert in front of Atlanta's Fulton County Courthouse, the same courthouse in which, almost a year ago, he pled guilty in a widely-publicized RICO case.

Thugger announced the show earlier that day via social media with the date, time, and a link to livestream the event.

The setlist included past hits such as "Ski" and "Digits", as well as cuts from his brand new album UY SCUTI including "Whaddup Jesus".

At one point, Thug took a moment to share a message of non-violence:

"Stop the violence in this city, man. Atlanta is much better together. Stop the violence - we pushing anti-gang."

He went on to thank the courthouse for hosting the event:

“This place shaped me — changed my life… Shout-out to the whole police academy for letting me perform here. This is not the place to be on the bad side, life is much more than this. That’s why I wanted to do it here. This isn’t a flex… This place changed my life forever.”

UY SCUTI, which came out September 26, is Young Thug's first album since leaving the Fulton County Courthouse after pleading guilty to, amongst other things, conspiring to violate the state’s RICO Act. The much-discussed case was the longest-running trial in Georgia's history, lasting nearly two years until Thug finally agreed to a plea deal. He is now serving 15 years of probation.
