Storied rap group Wu-Tang Clan have not released a proper album since 2014's A Better Tomorrow. Of course, there was the monolithic, one-and-only-one Once Upon a Time In Shaolin in 2015, but it's anyone's guess when the general public will hear that record.
Good news, though: Record Store Day 2025 will see the release of Black Samson, The Bastard Swordsman. All nine surviving Wu-Tang members appear in its grooves, along with a top-shelf roster of featured artists.
The double LP is produced by longtime Wu collaborator Mathematics, the man that also helmed the 2017 Wu-Tang compilation album The Saga Continues. The 12-track Black Samson, The Bastard Swordsman will be limited to 5,000 copies, distributed through participating RSD locations on April 12th.
Mathematics spoke highly of the upcoming release in a statement, proclaiming:
"This is more than music; it’s innovation, storytelling, and legacy all in one. I am excited for everyone to hear the music and see the artwork around this album."
