WU LYF announce first new album in 15 years, 'A Wave That Will Never Break'

After quietly re-emerging last year with a handful of live shows and singles, confirmation has finally come that a new WU LYF album is on the horizon. A Wave That Will Never Break, produced by Spacemen 3's Sonic Boom, is due out April 10.

Alongside the announcement comes new single “Love Your Fate”, a surging, open-hearted anthem that stares down apocalypse with stubborn romanticism. “As all of our futures go up in flames…” frontman Ellery Roberts sings, clinging to love as both shield and surrender. It’s melodramatic, yes, but that’s always kind of been the point.

Listen:

True to form, WU LYF aren’t returning through traditional channels. No label campaign, no algorithmic appeasement. The album will arrive directly via their L Y F membership platform, an ecosystem of journals, forums, exclusive merch, and early ticket access. In other words, they’re doubling down on community over convenience.

The band had this to say about the release:

"With the help of you all we have written, recorded, and produced the long awaited second WU LYF record.
The vision for the L Y F has been with us since the start; way back in 2010 when we first sold the white on white bandana with the "Heavy Pop" / "Concrete Gold" 12" — We foresaw a community of like-minds that would gather around the flame of our music, and through whose direct support we could operate with freedom, autonomy & the truth; to play our own (infinite) game — alas, we were young, foolish, and didn’t have the means or the infrastructure for the impulse to reach its full potential.
Now 15 years later here we are — the initial version of the L Y F membership platform has been an experimental proof of concept — we have learnt a lot from it over the past year and behind the scenes we have been building Version 2.0"

A Wave That Will Never Break is due out April 10 through their L Y F membership program. Tracklist:

2. Robe Of Glory
3. Letting Go
