Wolf Parade's Spencer Krug releases piano version of "I'll Believe in Anything"

After gaining renewed popularity from appearing in the hit queer hockey series Heated Rivalry, Wolf Parade's indie classic "I'll Believe in Anything" has been given a new rendition courtesy of band member Spencer Krug.

Krug, who sang the song on the group's 2005 debut LP Apologies to the Queen Mary, has given us a brand new piano-only version. Listen below:

The solo cut comes courtesy of Krug's own label, Pronounced Kroog.

As a result of its spot in the series, the original "I'll Believe in Anything" has seen an immense bump in listenership. It has reached 40 million streams on Spotify, with about half of those having come since the release of the show.

This piano version was first performed during Krug's set at Unreal City Fest in Vancouver, BC at Russian Hall. Krug has a solo headlining performance on June 5th in Vancouver, BC at St. James Hall, and the whole Wolf Parade gang will be back on the road in March across Ontario. Check all those dates out below.

Krug's last solo record was 2023's I Just Drew this Knife. He also reunited with his side project Sunset Rubdown last year for Always Happy to Explode, the band's first record in 15 years. And the last time we heard from Wolf Parade was 2020's Thin Mind.
