You may remember Wiz Khalifa taking to Twitter/X to apologize for “lighting up” on stage at Romania’s Beach, Please! Festival over a year ago, an incident that led to his initial arrest, and subsequent release. Now, Romanian authorities are seeking to sentence the rapper to nine months in prison for cannabis possession.
Last nights show was amazing. I didn’t mean any disrespect to the country of Romania by lighting up on stage. They were very respectful and let me go. I’ll be back soon. But without a big ass joint next time

The case stems all the way back to July 2024, when Wiz allegedly possessed over 18 grams of weed during the festival in Costinești, Romania. While a lower court initially imposed only a fine, a December 18 appellate ruling overturned that decision, upholding an appeal from Romania’s Directorate for Investigating Organized Crime and Terrorism (DIICOT).
Wiz is currently in the United States (and apparently fresh off an appearance at a Gunna concert), though it remains unclear whether Romanian authorities will pursue extradition. Sources close to the rapper tell TMZ that his team is currently in the process of appealing the ruling.
