William Tyler and Kieran Hebden (Four Tet) share new song "Spider Ballad"

Following up their cover of Lyle Lovett's "If I Had A Boat", William Tyler and Kieran Hebden (aka Four Tet) have previewed a new song, "Spider Ballad", from their forthcoming collaborative album 41 Longfield Street Late ‘80s.

"Spider Ballad" is propelled by a claustrophobic, dub-inflected beat that gradually echoes and swells. Listen to the track below:

41 Longfield Street Late ‘80s arrives September 19th via Eat Your Own Ears Recordings. The record came forth out of a mutual love between Tyler and Hebden for 80s country and folk music from America, specifically artists like Lyle Lovett, Nanci Griffith, and Joe Ely. The two artists started their creative pact with the 12" "Darkness Darkness / No Services" back in 2023.

"It’s a lot of nostalgia but it’s also very forward focused. I don’t even know what genre I’m supposed to be in at this point, but I trust Kieran and I love what we’ve done together. He’s become a dear friend and I can’t wait to see what’s ahead for us,” Tyler has commented.
