Westside Cowboy announce debut album, 'It Goes On'

Manchester indie outfit Westside Cowboy have announced their debut album, It Goes On, arriving August 21 via Island Records.

Along with the announcement, the band has released the lead single “Kick Stones (The Boys),” with a music video created in collaboration with semi-professional football club F.C. United of Manchester. Watch the video below.

Premiered this morning on BBC Radio 6 Music, “Kick Stones (The Boys)” is a driving track centered around a restless guitar line and the band’s rootsy vocal delivery.

Speaking on the single, bassist/vocalist Aoife Anson O’Connell explains:

"We loved the way it felt to play, but we thought we couldn’t record it like that or people would think we wanted to be a stadium rock band. We always thought, if we can pull this off it could be really fun, taking this mad ‘70s rock thing but then having it played by a bunch of scrawny kids."

It Goes On was produced by Loren Humphrey, known for his work with Geese, Cameron Winter, and Wunderhorse, and recorded at Greenmount Studios in Leeds. The band will also support the album with their biggest headline tour to date.

It Goes On is out August 21. Preorder here. Tracklist below:
