The trio of Wendy Eisenberg, Josh Daniel, and Steve Cameron return as Editrix for their third full-length album, The Big E, which drops on 25 July. The title track, which also opens the record, is named after the "massive, recurring E chords" of Eisenberg's guitar lines.
“This song is about alien visitors – hoping they’re friendly and curious like the best of us humans," says Eisenberg. "It’s also about aging, which feels like you’re an alien to certain generations, including your younger selves, and the impossibility of being understood.”

Produced with Colin Marston, whose recent credits include notorious metal acts Imperial Triumphant and Defeated Sanity, The Big E came together in just four days – admittedly, two days longer than 2022's Editrix II took – and marks a renewed creative energy for the band.
“This was the first time we were making an album with us spread apart,” says dummer Daniel. "Time was a more precious resource. Once we hit our stride with it, it became very exciting because we would get together for a rehearsal and write a song in one sitting.”
"Most of the time, I don’t even know what polyrhythms we’re playing," Eisenberg admits. “It’s about how it feels, and one thing I’m proud of with this record is that it feels a lot more groove oriented than the last few."
