Weezer are back with the announcement of a North American tour this coming fall, as well as a single from an upcoming new album.

The new single "Shine Again" will be released on April 1, and don't worry, per a press release, this is real and "NOT April Fools."

The track is produced by Kenneth Blume (aka Kenny Beats) and recorded at his Putnam Hill studio. The single is part of a new, still-untitled album, their first via Reprise/Warner Records. Listen to a snippet of the song below:

The forthcoming Weezer: The Gathering tour kicks off on September 8 at Sacramento's Golden 1 Center and wraps up on October 24 in Los Angeles. They will have support from The Shins and Silversun Pickups on all dates. Pre-sale for Citi, Verizon, Mastercard, American Express, and Weezer fan club begins Tuesday, March 31, at 10am local time. All tickets will go on sale Friday, April 3, at 10am local time on their website.

Ahead of the 32-stop run, the group will host a series of "initiation" events in their hometown of Los Angeles for the next week called "Weezer: The Gathering - Initiation Week." These events range from a trivia night at Barney's Beanery happening today to a pickleball tournament against the band on Monday, March 30; more info here.
