Wavves hints at Travis Barker collab, new single "Goner"

After returning with a new single, a new marijuana company, and their first show of 2025, Wavves is returning on 3/31 with a new song and music video for the song "Goner" and... a Travis Barker collaboration?

Debuted on stage at Zebulon in Los Angeles, California, earlier in the month at a special fire relief concert, "Goner" is classic Wavves in every sense of the term, featuring distorted guitar licks, hand claps, and some whistling for good measure.

Sharing a clip from the music video as part of an Instagram slideshow, Wavves also shared a video of singer Nathan Williams recording handclaps with none other than Travis Barker, who has made a second career out of producing pop-punk-adjacent music alongside his time in Blink-182.

This isn't the first time Wavves has hinted at a collaberation with Barker, as, one year ago when the band was in the studio, they shared a short Instagram story of the Blink drummer overseeing a guitar-recording session, leading some to wonder if he would be involved in the new project one way or the other. With a new album release rapidly approaching, the prospects of Barker working on the Wavves album appear to become more and more likely with each passing week, with an official announcement likely coming alongside a release date.

Though not traditionally viewed as a pop punk band, Wavves and Blink do have enough crossover to make a pairing very intriguing, with fans online eager to see how the pairing will work out. With a video for the second single set to debut on Monday, it's clear the wait is rapidly coming to an end.
