A new clip making the rounds online captures a pretty priceless, slightly unhinged moment between Chad Kroeger and an overzealous fan.

Running into Chad Kroeger at a casino and asking him to sing Nickleback - and then him doing it - is wild.

In the short video, the Nickelback frontman is mid conversation when a woman approaches him with a request. “Chad, can you sing for me one little time?” she asks. Kroeger, audibly irritated, turns and shoots back a blunt, “What?” before doubling down with an even sharper, “Would you shut the fuck up?”

Undeterred, the fan presses on, because of course she does. This time, Kroeger relents just enough to engage, offering a reluctant, “Yes, what?” while someone nearby can be heard laughing at the whole absurd exchange.

She goes for the obvious ask: a snippet of “Rockstar”, the band’s 2007 smash from All the Right Reasons. To his credit, Kroeger delivers a half-hearted line or two: “I’m through with standing in line to clubs I’ll never get in…” It’s less performance, more obligation.

And just as quickly as it starts, it ends. Kroeger covers the camera with his hand, flashes a knowing smirk, and politely (well, relatively speaking) tells her to fuck off one more time.

Elsewhere, Nickelback have been keeping busy. The band recently linked up with Don Broco for “Nightmare Tripping”, the title track of the British outfit’s upcoming album due March 27 via Fearless Records.

As for Nickelback’s own catalog, their latest full-length, Get Rollin’, dropped in 2022 and cracked the Billboard 200. Serving as proof that, love them or hate them, they’re still very much in the conversation.
