One year ago today, Car Seat Headrest performed a stripped-down full-band set at The Bitter End in New York City. This was only the group’s second show after a multi-year concert hiatus due to frontman Will Toledo's struggles with long COVID. They debuted their just-completed (and as-of-then not yet announced) album, The Scholars, in its entirety.
Yesterday, the band surprised fans by streaming Live at the Bitter End via Bandcamp in celebration of The Scholars’ quickly-approaching one-year anniversary. The 58-minute video documents five songs from the performance – “Equals,” “Gethsemane,” “Reality,” “Planet Desperation,” and “True / False Lover” each with an introduction from Toledo. Today, Live at the Bitter End is available to stream widely via Youtube.
