In his latest interview, Tyler, the Creator, speaks on his distaste for the current climate of hip-hop and artists who don't share the same fervor for the art form.
As a teaser for the newest episode of Maverick Carter's "MAVERICKS with Mav Carter" web series, the two-time GRAMMY® Award-winning artist criticizes ingenuine rappers in it for the money and the media's promotion of such behavior.
In the clip, Tyler says, "There's so many [people] out right now that aren’t musicians that are getting treated like musicians because they make meme records — publicly they will be like, ‘I don’t give a fuck about music. I just do this shit for money.'”
Tyler's public bashing has sparked online discussions regarding the current climate of the genre and artists within the space, with users name-dropping musicians that fit the profile.
