West Virginia's prodigal son Tyler Childers has returned with the long-awaited studio recording of "Oneida", a longtime live favorite and now second single from upcoming album Snipe Hunter, due out July 25 via Hickman Holler/RCA.

"Oneida" dates back to 2106 and is about a younger male falling in love with an older woman, with lyrics reminiscent of Garth Brooks's questionable 1992 single "That Summer":

"Back before birthdays were something she dreads /
Back before children had settled her friends /
Back when the radio spoke to her heart /
Oh girls, they wanna have fun /

Oneida, I know that I'm younger than most /
But I'm willing if you've got the time /
To buy us some wine"

Produced by Rick Rubin, with additional production by Sylvan Esso's Nick Sanborn and Childers himself, Snipe Hunter is the upcoming follow-up to 2023's Rustin' in the Rain, which our very own Melon said was "charming (him) more and more."

Last month, Childers released "Nose on the Grindstone", another fan favorite which had yet to have an official studio recording. It was the first single taken from the upcoming 13-track Snipe Hunter.
