Turkish psych-rock band Altın Gün share new single “Bir sigara iç oğlan”

Amsterdam-based Turkish band Altın Gün have shared a new single today ahead of their upcoming European tour dates. “Bir sigara iç oğlan” ("smoke a cigarette boy") is the second release from the band since the departure of co-vocalist and keyboardist Merve Daşdemir, announced in February 

Originally written by beloved Turkish singer/songwriter, actor, and poet Abdullah Yüce, who passed away in 1995, the song’s lyrics take the form of a conversation between two would-be lovers separated by an overbearing dad. A fresh arrangement of fuzzed-out Anatolian psych-rock brings the song firmly into Altın Gün’s innovative musical universe.

Altın Gün continue touring behind last year’s album Aşk with a trio of Germany dates starting tonight in Hannover. They’ll then travel to The Netherlands, Norway, and Turkey, before ending the year with an appearance at the Istanbul Ekspres event in Gent, Belgium. Full list of dates below:
