Tripping Daisy announce first North American tour in 26 years

Texas psych-grunge rockers Tripping Daisy are officially back as the band has announced their first North American tour since 1999.

Formed in 1990, the band's debut Bill sold more than 20,000 copies locally and caught the attention of major labels, landing a deal with Island Records for 1995's I Am an Elastic Firecracker.

The album's lead single "I Got a Girl" went gold in the U.S. and platinum in Canada, and the band built quite a cult following thanks in part to TV and film appearances in "Beavis and Butthead", "Late Show with Conan O'Brien", and "The Craft", among others.

The alt rockers remained active until the overdose death of bassist Wes Berggren in 1999. Frontman Tom DeLaughter went on to form The Polyphonic Spree, another band with quite a following.

The reunion tour will be a 30th anniversary celebration of Elastic Firecracker, with Tripping Daisy promising to perform classics from their other albums, according to the tour poster below:
