Tool are as known for their valium-coated work ethic as they are for their one-of-a-kind interpretation of progressive rock. In a recent interview held on the Loudwire Nights podcast, guitarist Adam Jones and singer Maynard James Keenan discussed their plans for a future release. Their eagerly-anticipated sixth album – if it ever sees the light of day – will follow 2019's Fear Inoculum.
Keenan only adds vocals to the band's music after the other three members (Jones, bassist Justin Chancellor, and drummer Danny Carey) are finished with their writing. Hence Keenan's question: "you guys are busy, Adam?"
"We want to get another record out and play, do what we do," Jones replied. "Between preparing for an upcoming tour or whatever we're doing, there's points where someone goes, 'Oh, I got this, and I got this.' But I think we're going to dive deep soon."
Tool's current schedule includes shows in Japan and Hawaii, neither of which have hosted a Tool concert in several years. Tickets can be purchased here.
