Nigerian-British artist Tony Njoku will release his fourth album, All Our Knives Are Always Sharp, on July 11 as the first LP release from his own label Studio Njoku. It's his first new music since completing his Bloom series of four EPs at the end of last year.

Out today, the title track follows the recently released "Eternity" and features fellow London artist and producer Coby Sey. Writing in the press release, Njoku says:

"ALL OUR KNIVES... is the title track of my upcoming album. For this song I wanted to explore the relationship between emotional pain and healing, essentially trying to convey a message about the necessity of confronting our wounds. As the title track, I wanted it to make a statement about affirming mental fortitude. I believe vulnerability is a powerful trait—a symbol of true strength."

On his collaboration with Sey, he adds:

"My desire to collaborate with Coby was deeply influenced by my experience with his album Conduit, which resonated with me in a profound way. I find his songwriting and lyrical abilities deeply poetic and transformative, and I’m incredibly grateful for the words he shared on this song.”

Other guests on the album include Tricky, Gaika, Space Afrika, Labi Junior, and James Messiah.

For Njoku, a key theme of the album is "spiritual preparedness," a metaphysical sentiment becoming increasingly important in a world of political turmoil. "I don’t know how a revolution can come if everybody is in limbic overdrive," he says. "Mental strength and spiritual groundedness is the epicentre of it all for me. I’m weaponising my spirituality for the battle.”
