Thundercat announces new album, 'Distracted'

Fresh from producing in A$AP Rocky's new album, Thundercat has just announced his first new LP in six years, Distracted. The record is out on April 3rd via Brainfeeder Records.

As a teaser, he released "I Did This to Myself", featuring a charismatic verse from Lil Yachty. Listen below.

Distracted will also feature the previously released singles "No More Lies" (2023) and "I Wish I Didn't Waste Your Time". Check out the full tracklist down below.

The California musician has been busy in the last few years, producing and playing the bass for the likes of Tyler, the Creator, Kendrick Lamar, JID, Denzel Curry and many others. He finally decided it's time for a new album, his first since 2020's It Is What It Is.

Just as his previous record, Distracted is a meditation on grief, and was partly inspired by the sudden loss of rapper Mac Miller, Thundercat's collaborator and friend who died in 2019.

The album will feature a previously unheard collaboration with Miller, "She Knows Too Much", as well as appearances from Tame Impala's Kevin Parker, A$AP Rocky, WILLOW, and more.
