The Who fire Zak Starkey after firing him & re-hiring him

Zak Starkey, drummer for British rock stalwarts The Who, is out of the band – seemingly for real this time. You see, we at The Needle Drop have published recent stories on the band letting him go and getting him back in the fray right after. Now, though, it's curtains for the drummer, son of Beatles legend Ringo Starr.

Who guitarist Pete Townshend shared a post on Instagram on Sunday, which states that Starkey's time touring with the band has come to an end. Scott Devours, the drummer for frontman Roger Daltrey's solo band, has been announced as Starkey's replacement for the band's upcoming farewell shows.

"Zak has lots of new projects in hand and I wish him the best," Townshend wrote. You can view the post below.

Devours has substituted for Starkey in the past, and boasts additional experience in the bands IMA Robot and Oleander. I wonder if Starkey will hit up Josh Freese and commiserate over a few beers...

What do you think?
