Just three days after we published a story covering the dismissal of The Who's Zak Starkey from the band, The Needle Drop is back to tell you that the British ensemble have changed their minds.
Guitarist Pete Townshend took to Instagram on April 19th with the following message: "News flash! Who back Zak! Zak is not being asked to step down from The Who. There have been some communication issues, personal and private on all sides that needed to be dealt with, and these have been aired happily." See the post below.
Following a series of shows at the Royal Albert Hall, The Who let go of Starkey – son of Beatles drummer Ringo Starr – after he had been playing with them since 1996. Starkey confirmed the choice to Rolling Stone, opining that he was "surprised and saddened" with the orders to let him go.
It seems he'll be back on, though – and The Who show no signs of coming to a halt, with two upcoming Italian gigs scheduled for July.
