The Weeknd has just released the lead single for his upcoming album HURRY UP TOMORROW called "Dancing In The Flames".
The song is certainly a return to form for The Weeknd, as he is diving more into his 80s synth pop revival bag for this new track. In the track, The Weeknd is relating his feelings on love to a car crash, with many lyrics linking the two concepts together.
The Weeknd sings on the chorus:
"I can't wait to see your face
Crash when we're switchin' lanes
My love's beyond the pain
But if I miss the brake
We're dancin' in the flames
It's indescribable"
There's also a video for the song you can watch here:
The video is very cinematic and depicts The Weeknd getting into a car crash, further reinforcing the themes of the song. The video ends with The Weeknd viewing a sun or some kind of light in the distance and collapsing as an ambulance and paramedics come to take him away. The Weeknd is no stranger to telling stories through all of his music videos, so it wouldn't be a surprise if the next song picks up right where this one left off.
