Today, indie pop group The Postal Service announced that they would be taking an indefinite hiatus after their HTStival performance on September 21st. This follows after an extensive reunion tour (celebrating the 20th anniversary of the duo's Give Up) alongside member Ben Gibbard's band Death Cab for Cutie, who themselves were celebrating the 20th anniversary of their album Transatlanticism.
On social media, The Postal Service (which Gibbard shares with Jimmy Tamborello) posted the news alongside a note from Gibbard.

Hey Everyone,
As we bring the Transatlanticism / Give Up Tour to a close, I want you all to know that getting the opportunity to perform these two albums live has been one of the greatest thrills and honors of my entire life. On behalf of Death Cab for Cutie and The Postal Service; Thank you so much for coming out and singing along. We will see you all again somewhere down the road.
Xo Ben
While the Washington, D.C. show will be the Postal Service's final show for the foreseeable future, Death Cab for Cutie still have one on the books for Japan, in January. You can purchase tickets to that here.
