New York City-based noise-pop band The Pains Of Being Pure At Heart have announced their first tour in more than half a decade to celebrate the 15th anniversary of their self-titled debut album.
Lead singer Kip Berman disbanded The Pains Of Being Pure At Heart in November 2019 after stating the music he was creating "didn't feel the same" post-becoming a father. This upcoming tour is exciting as both a reignition of the project, and a set of shows focusing on the band's breakout record, an album that landed on TheNeedleDrop's "Loved List 2009" and Pitchfork's "Best Albums of 2009" list.
The catch is that the tour is taking place entirely within Spain and Portugal, an unfortunate fact for Pains Of Being Pure At Heart fans in North America and most of the rest of Europe. Writing about the potential of future shows, Berman says "I don't know if we'll be doing more (or less) of this in the future." So there is at least some potential for a future with more NA and EU concerts celebrating this album.
