The New Eves release new single "Highway Man", sign to Transgressive Records

After releasing "Astrolabe" roughly a year ago, there's finally some news surrounding rising Brighton-based folk-punk formation The New Eves. The group announced their signing to Transgressive Records with a brand new single, "Highway Man".

You can listen and watch the video below:

Recalling Patti Smith, The Raincoats, and PJ Harvey's early trio days, "Highway Man" shows off The New Eves's more menacing side. Co-produced with Joe Jones and Jack Ogborne (Bingo Fury), “Highway Man” flips Alfred Noyes 1906 poem from of female storytelling perspective.

“In the original version it’s this dude, who’s being the dude, and the girl doesn’t do anything and then dies,” says band member Nina Winder-Lind (vocals, cello, guitar). “So I was like, ‘We can’t have that…" Next to Winder-Lind, The New Eves are formed by Violet Farrer (violin, guitar, vocals), Kate Mager (bass, vocals, dance), and Ella Russell (flute, drums, vocals).
