Brighton-based alternative folk/punk outfit The New Eves have released "Cow Song". It's the latest glimpse from their upcoming LP The New Eve Is Rising, out August 1st via Transgressive Records.
Watch and listen to the video for "Cow Song" below:
"Cow Song" was conceived an improvised jam and recorded partly in a field in the company of a cow named Bonnie – exploring themes of liberation, landscape, and ancestral rituals. From a sonic standpoint, the Swedish pastoral tradition of kulning was a big influence on the vocal performances. Kulning is a female-led vocal technique used to communicate with each other and call cattle across the mountains. The band comments, “It’s a very beautiful thing and it’s loud! This inspired us to use our voices in a new and bigger way.”
"Cow Song" is th fourth track released for The New Eve Is Rising, following "Highway Man", "Rivers Runs Red" and "The New Eve".
You can pre-order your copy of the record here.
