Legendary English post punk band The Cure have yet to formally announce details on their long-awaited album, but according to some teasers delivered to fans this week, it appears like we'll know more by November.
Lucky fans who signed up for the band's mailing list found mysterious black postcards in their mailbox this week. The postcard reveals what looks to be the title of the album, Songs for a Lost World, as well as Roman numerals that read 1·11·24, possibly pointing to a November 1st, 2024 release date.
A poster has also been spotted outside the Railway, a pub in frontman Robert Smith's hometown of Crawley.
This will be the band's first outing since 2008's 4:13 Dream. In the intervening years, new music has been teased but never released. During their most recent tour, two previously unheard songs "And Nothing Is Forever" and "I Can Never Say Goodbye" were performed. “Alone” and “Endsong” were performed during their previous tour. It's unknown if these songs will make an appearance on the tracklist.
"And Nothing Is Forever" and "I Can Never Say Goodbye" will be released as a 12-inch Eco Friendly Single Novembre – Live in France 2022 on October 1. All proceeds will go to Brian Eno's Earth Percent charity.
