The All-American Rejects are no longer playing at When We Were Young festival

Oklahoma rock band The All-American Rejects have announced on their socials that they will no longer be playing at the When We Were Young festival. The popular Las Vegas event showcases several popular emo bands - like Fall Out Boy and My Chemical Romance - and takes place next weekend on October 19-20. The band made the announcement on Instagram saying:

"It is with deep sadness and disappointment that we have to announce that we will no longer be playing When We Were Young festival next weekend.

We have spent months tirelessly preparing a once in a lifetime show that we were so excited to bring to you. However, there has been a management change within the WWWY operation, and they are no longer able to accommodate us in the previously agreed upon line-up, which has made it impossible for us to continue.

We are especially devastated to not get to play for those of you who are traveling across the globe to witness the visual and sonic spectacle we have been brewing up in our cauldron. We'd like to apologize to our amazing crew who have been working around the clock to make magic happen.

With love,
TY, NICK, MIKE AND CHRIS"

The Rejects were supposed to play their self-titled 2002 album at the festival, but last month, frontman and lead singer/bassist Tyson Ritter said the band never agreed to that.

“The people who booked the show were looking for some angle to sell it,” Ritter said. “They didn’t consult with their artists beforehand. We’re playing a Rejects grand slam hit fest. We’re gonna play the set that you want to see.”

According to NME, "artists on the 2024 bill will all play one of their former albums in full." For example. My Chemical Romance will be performing their classic 2006 album The Black Parade in full. You can get tickets to the When We Were Young festival here.
