Iconic producer The Alchemist has announced a new album, The Genuine Articulate, due for release on 20 September via his own label, ALC. Along with it, the music video for its lead single, “Ferraris in The Rain”, featuring ScHoolboy Q, has premiered.
The video is directed by New High Filmz, and we see The Alchemist rapping next to a parked red Ferrari. In the second half of the video, ScHoolboy Q jumps onto the track to perform his verse while leaning against a white Rolls-Royce.
This isn’t the first time the two artists have worked on a song. They collaborated on the single “W.Y.G.D.T.N.S.”, and Al produced the track “Lost Times (featuring Jozzy)”, from ScHoolboy Q’s latest album, BLUE LIPS.
This has been a jam-packed year for the 3-time GRAMMY-nominated producer, as The Genuine Articulate will be his third album of 2024, following May’s Black & Whites collab album with Big Hit and Hit-Boy, and April’s Heads I Win, Tails You Lose, as one half of the hip-hop duo Gangrene with rapper/producer Oh no. Additionally, Kendrick Lamar used one of his beats for “Meet The Grahams”, which took part in the Drake-Lamar feud.
Recently, he has produced A$AP Rocky’s new single, “Ruby Rosary”, featuring J. Cole, from the Harlem rapper’s upcoming album, Don’t Be Dumb.
