Over the past ten days, Kevin Parker — better known as Tame Impala — has been cryptically teasing new music on Instagram, posting brief audio snippets with vague captions like "👀" and “Been busy.”
Earlier today, he shared something slightly less ambiguous, though still not exactly forthcoming. With the caption “On my way,” Parker posted a video of someone running along train tracks, soundtracked by a pounding four-on-the-floor house beat. The clip ends with one word: “FRIDAY.”
Around the same time, fans received text messages reading “End of Summer. Friday,” along with a link to his website, which now hosts a pre-save and a countdown. While it’s unclear whether "End of Summer" is the lead singl, the name of the full LP, or something else entirely, a new release is clearly imminent.
Check out the post below.
The upcoming album would mark Tame Impala’s first since 2020’s The Slow Rush. In the time since, Parker has contributed to a variety of remixes, film soundtracks, and production work for artists like Dua Lipa and Melody’s Echo Chamber.
Be sure to pre-save the upcoming release here so you can find out exactly what Tame Impala has in store this Friday.
