SZA drops new track “Save the Day” for Disney-Pixar’s 'Hoppers'

SZA has just dropped a fresh track, “Save the Day”. The song is part of the soundtrack for the upcoming Disney-Pixar film Hoppers, hitting theaters next month.

Give it a listen below; it's classic SZA, effortlessly blending soulful melodies with cinematic flair.

Set to premiere on March 6, Hoppers imagines a world where scientists have figured out how to “hop” human consciousness into lifelike robotic animals. The film is co-directed by Daniel Chong and Nicole Grindle, and features a star-studded voice cast including Meryl Streep, Dave Franco, Kathy Najimy, Jon Hamm, Sam Richardson, and more.

In a recent interview with Laughing Place, Chong explained why SZA was a natural choice for the soundtrack. “We used ‘Good Days’ and ‘Saturn’ as placeholder tracks in the credits, and when we reached out to SZA, it just clicked. There was this instant intuitiveness, she saw the movie and immediately understood what it needed,” he said.

While her last full album, SOS, came out in 2022, SZA has stayed busy with new music. A 2024 expanded edition, SOS Deluxe: Lana, added fifteen previously unreleased tracks, and 2025 has been a whirlwind: touring with Kendrick Lamar, performing alongside him at the Super Bowl, singing with Elmo on Sesame Street, and starring with Keke Palmer in the buddy comedy One Of Them Days. Most recently, she reunited with Lamar on the GNX track “Luther,” earning them a Grammy for Record of the Year earlier this month.

“Save the Day” continues SZA’s streak of seamlessly bridging pop, R&B, and cinematic soundscapes, proving once again that she’s just as at home on the big screen as she is on stage.
