Nu-metal forefathers System of a Down have announced they will embark on a seven-city European stadium tour next year alongside desert rock kings Queens of the Stone Age and recently-reunited sludge legends Acid Bath.
Beginning June 29 in Stockholm, Sweden, the seven-city tour sees the heavy trio perform in massive arenas across the continent before wrapping things up July 18 in Warsaw, Poland.
The tour, which will mark Acid Bath's first-ever European performances, goes on sale Friday, September 19, at 12 pm local time, with pre-sale options beginning Tuesday, September 16, at 12 pm local. Those interested can sign up on acidbathofficial.com to receive early access to tickets one day ahead of pre-sale Monday, September 15.
System of a Down's Facebook post also mentions that plans for "a very special event" are in the works to take place during the shows, whatever that means.
Back in July, guitarist Daron Malakian told Kerang!:
"I know people hate me to say this, but I'm not sure I want to make another System of a Down record. We have those five records, which people still enjoy and we play live ... I’m really enjoying being live onstage with System of a Down. We’re all getting along really well. There was never hatred between us. The differences between us were more about the politics in the band and how different people wanted the band to move forward.”
