Swedish collective Goat share new track “Goatbrain” ahead of self-titled sixth LP

Sweden’s premier experimental rock collective Goat have a lot of songs starting with the name of their band – “Goatman”, “Goatchild”, “Goatlord”, “Goatslaves”, “Goatfuzz”, and so on – so it stands to reason that they would eventually make an album simply titled Goat. That album lands on 11 October via Rocket Recordings, and is said to share some musical DNA with their influential 2012 debut World Music, as well as introducing plenty of the “curveballs and curiosity” that Goat devotees have come to expect. 

Following July’s release of album closer “Ouroboros”, new single “Goatbrain” offers a completely different angle on the band’s latest incarnation, swapping breakbeats for a kaleidoscopic funk guitar workout with added saxophone and flute. Watch the video below:

Goat fans in the UK have a chance to see them live next month. The band have six shows lined up with support from fellow Swedes MaidaVale on the first three dates and Alison Cotton on the rest. See below for details:
