The great, R&B-deconstructing violinist/songwriter/ethnomusicologist Brittney Parks, who performs as Sudan Archives and made The Needle Drop staff's Best Albums of 2025 list, has now appeared on SiriusXMU to cover Sade.
Parks' take on the trip-hoppy 1992 track "Cherish the Day" is decidedly different, more tense than relaxed (like the current Rock and Roll Hall of Fame nominees are known for), with handclaps, thick Auto-Tune (not typical for Parks), and layers of looped and live violin, of course.
