Having made their live debut earlier this year, British rock legend Sting’s new “power trio” Sting 3.0 are just a couple of weeks out from the North American leg of their current tour. To celebrate the occasion, the band have shared new single “I Wrote Your Name (Upon My Heart)” – the first official Sting 3.0 recording, and the first new Sting track since 2021.
Featuring Sting 3.0 members Dominic Miller (guitar) and Chris Maas (drums), plus Cherrytree Records head Martin Kierszenbaum on organ, the song is built on a version of what’s sometimes known as “the Bo Diddley Beat”, or “the rhythm that conquered the world.”

Earlier this year, UMR/Polydor put together a massive, six-disc deluxe 40th Anniversary reissue of The Police's fifth album Synchronicity, featuring Sting's never-before-heard original demos. It was the last album recorded by the band before their split in 1986.
