Legendary UK art-pop group Stereolab have teased that the band is more than likely readying their first new music since 2010, after fans reported receiving "unsolicited" packages in the mail, according to social media posts from confirming recipients.
It's been a long time coming as the group's founding members Lætitia Sadier and Tim Gane reunited with former bandmates Andy Ramsay and Joseph Watson in 2019 after their initial run from 1990 to 2009.
The band sent out their "Lab Report" newsletter March 31, and it included a link to an image with the words "Unsolicited Stereolab Material" written on it. After the newsletter, the band uploaded a photo of the record on Instagram with the same words stamped on what looked to be packaging material for a test LP.
Two days ago, fans in the UK started receiving "unsolicited Stereolab material" in the mail, which came with a 7" record with a song called "Aerial Troubles" on one side and an instrumental version on the other, plus a word search puzzle.

A Reddit user took photos of the packaging yesterday and uploaded a portion of the new track. Other Reddit users on the forum figured out some of the words in the puzzle, including album, stereolab, sadier, tim, ramsay, plastic, melodies, warp, flashes, film, television, transistor, transmute, and disk.
Earlier this year, Stereolab announced a massive 2025 tour, scheduled to begin in Europe from May to June, before they travel throughout North America performing from September to November, and then hitting a final December run in the United Kingdom.
