"We're on the road to nowhere": David Byrne and Stephen Colbert

Stephen Colbert joins David Byrne onstage on his show

Tomorrow evening will be the final episode of The Late Show With Stephen Colbert, a premature ending that's widely interpreted to be a retaliation from the CBS network for Stephen Colbert's criticism of Trump.

The Late Show host has been going out with a bang, though; tonight's musical guest will be Bruce Springsteen, himself another outspoken Trump foe, and last night he had on Steven Spielberg and his own former Daily Show sparring partner Jon Stewart, along with musical guest David Byrne.

Byrne and his band have been on a life-affirming tour since the fall performing his solo catalogue interspersed with Talking Heads classics in an astounding multimedia show that only he could do. Unsurprisingly, it's got a ton of dancing.

Byrne's ensemble performed "Burning Down the House" for Colbert's studio audience last night in their trademark matching blue jumpsuits with all handheld instruments (including drums) and got a cameo from a blue-clad Colbert himself dancing and joining in towards the end. The song choice was also possibly a message to the network. Nevertheless, watch their joyous performance below.
