During the press cycle for her recent album All Born Screaming, St. Vincent talked a lot about her admiration for the paintings of Francisco Goya, citing the Spanish artist's work – particularly his Black Paintings housed at the Prado in Madrid – as a huge inspiration for the aesthetic of this era. Now, it seems, Annie Clark's experiences in Spain might have rubbed off on her in another way, as the ever-unpredictable artist has re-recorded the entirety of All Born Screaming in Spanish.
Out 15 November via Clark's own Total Pleasure Records, Todos Nacen Gritando is preceded by "Hombre Roto", the Spanish translation of All Born Screaming lead single (with the Goya-inspired video) "Broken Man", which dropped a little earlier on today. Listen to it below:
Todos Nacen Gritando tracklist:
1. El Infierno Está Cerca
2. Salvaje
3. Hombre Roto
4. Pulga
5. El Mero Cero
6. Tiempos Violentos
7. Se Fue La Luz
8. La Fruta Mas Dulce
9. Tantos Planetas
10. Todos Nacen Gritando (feat. Cate Le Bon)
Fans report that Clark has been dropping some Spanish lines into songs on her current tour. She plays the final show of the US leg tonight (20 September) in St. Paul, MN, with support from Dorian Electra. She'll then head back to Europe in October before making her way to festivals in Mexico City and Jakarta, headline shows in Australia, and what looks to be her final show of 2024 at Clockenflap Festival in Hong Kong.
