Experimental rock band, SPIRIT OF THE BEEHIVE have dropped their fifth full-length album, YOU’LL HAVE TO LOSE SOMETHING, via Saddle Creek records. This album marks the ten year anniversary of the band, who released their first record in 2014.

SPIRIT OF THE BEEHIVE consists of Zack Schwartz, Rivka Ravede, and Corey Wichlin, who all share instrumental responsibilities.

According to their website, the band described that their goal for this new album was “to soften out some of the edges…we wanted to make something intentionally less antagonistic.” When describing the sound of the record, they said, “it sounds like listening to a Walkman from inside of a hurricane, like the YouTube videos you’d watch in bed for 18 hours straight after you break your wrist from a skateboarding accident.”

The album was produced and mixed by Schwartz and Wichlin, as well as Andy Clarke who mixed and mastered. The band is going on tour to promote the album, starting in Boston, MA on September 24. The tour will cover North America, with stops in Canada and the United States.
