The hardcore landscape has changed a lot since the last Soul Glo album, 2022's wildly acclaimed Diaspora Problems; Turnstile just released a remix album featuring Elton John, for instance.

But while those Baltimore standard-bearers have been increasingly showcasing how pop-friendly they are for almost a decade, Soul Glo has dipped into everything from trap ("Driponomics") to weaponizing the classic "It Takes Two" sample ("Coming Correct Is Cheaper") without sacrificing ugliness and brutality.

They've now just announced their first album in five years, Na I’m Gon Grab Allat, and the first taste of it is anything but pop-friendly.

Watch the video for its ripping opener "February Theory," below, which features their fellow Philly punk cohorts Mannequin Pussy along with a beatdown at a funeral which stemmed from fighting over a hotdog...oh, just watch it:

The album features intriguing appearances from TV on the Radio's Tunde Adebimpe and rappers Bbymutha and MIKE among others.
