Sorry return with brand-new single "Waxwing" two years after their last release

Today alt-indie group Sorry has dropped a brand-new single. Out via Domino Records, "Waxwing" is the band's first release in two years. Honouring their usual sound, the track is coated in warped distortion, riddling lyrics, and looping melodies.

Shared alongside a lo-fi music video directed and produced by FLASHA, throughout the video, the band captures a whimsical and nostalgic aura through chopped and skewed footage.

Lyrically, "Waxwing" is a tongue-in-cheek play on Toni Basil's 1981 pop record "Hey Mickey". Talking about it, lead vocalist Asha Lorenz says:

"Mickey is desire ? Mickey is the bomb? Mickey makes me money? Mickey makes my songs? Mickey makes a poem? Mickey in the drugs ? Mickey is liar ? Mickey making love? Mickey is desire?"

In September 2022 the group shared their fourth studio album Anywhere but Here. Featuring standout releases "Let the Lights On" and "Key to the City", this project quickly put the band back on the map, following the success of their lockdown project 925.

This winter, the band is embarking on a UK and Ireland tour in support of Fontaines D.C. Only a few dates have tickets remaining.
