Snail Mail's doppelganger is a Jeopardy! contestant

Stella Trout is a software engineer from Texas, not Snail Mail, despite her physical resemblance to singer-songwriter Lindsey Jordan. But Trout won for two episodes on Jeopardy! last June, which made the internet notice the similarity, and reappearing for the game show's Champion Wildcard quarterfinals this week, host Ken Jennings did ask Trout about her mysterious resemblance to the indie-rock star, and she was a great sport.

Trout explained to a studio audience and home viewers who might not know the moderately famous singer: "People online said I looked a lot like this indie musician Snail Mail. [Jordan] saw it, and so then she followed me, and now we follow each other. And I'm like, 'Snail Mail, let me be your stunt double or something.'"

Looking like Snail Mail must be good luck, because Trout was the only contestant to get the Final Jeopardy question correct, so she'll be going onto the semifinals.

And for her part, the actual Lindsey Jordan posted a screenshot of Trout on her Instagram story with the caption, "i love u twin." Aww.
