The DJ in question was playing "He Could Be the One" from the soundtrack of Disney Channel show Hannah Montana.

While the scene set seems absurd without context, this video was taken from a date of the "Bop To The Top" DJ tour, a touring club night that exclusively plays songs from Disney Channel properties. Meant to appeal to nostalgic twenty-somethings, this display of support for Mangione has caused discourse to spark regarding what these attitudes may imply about Gen Z.

One cynical X (formerly Twitter) user declared "This means nothing if you guys are not going to actually organize anything of political and revolutionary substance. All you are doing is idolizing him until the next meme-able viral moment happens. None of this is translating into institutional change," with many others mirroring a similar sentiment.
