Silverstein unleashes new post-hardcore single "Skin & Bones"

When talking about Silverstein, a few words spring to mind: old-school emo legends. One of few bands still going strong in the post-hardcore scene, if there's one thing for sure, the group has grown to be a staple name in the heavy music scene.

Today, the Canadian five-piece has shared their second single of the year, “Skin & Bones”, out via UNFD. Shared alongside an adrenaline-pumped music video, on this new release, the band doubles down on their creative vision with avant-garde visuals. Watch the video here:

At the beginning of the year, the band ventured out into the desert to spend some time creating new music. After spending several weeks in Joshua Tree, the group later came to create what we now know as "Skin & Bones".

The track is shared six months after their previous, collaborative release, "Take It Back" with EDM artist Fairlane. On "Skin & Bones" the band dives deep into emotionally-penned lyrics. Leading some insight on the song's meaning, frontman Shane Told shares:

""Skin & Bones" is a deeply emotional song, written about the sudden loss of a person who was once very close to me", he says. "Every day we’re stuck in our own heads worrying about trivial things and never thinking about just how fragile we are. Life can be gone in an instant.  I lost one of the greatest people I ever knew."

Drummer Paul Koehler adds:

"Skin & Bones" is packed with heavy emotions and is the first glimpse of what formed in those sessions".

"Skin & Bones" is available to stream everywhere.
