Sick New World, a festival fever dream for any nu metal fan, is looking like its poised to make a return after the Las Vegas festival's 2025 edition was canceled nearly two years ago.
Fans spotted apparent Sick New World visuals during System of a Down's recent stadium shows in New Jersey, Chicago, and Toronto. The animations in the video look pretty spot on with art Sick New World would use in branding, and the tour's co-headliners — Korn, Avenged Sevenfold, and Deftones — have all performed at Sick New World in the past, our sister site Lambgoat points out.
Earlier this week, System of a Down announced a string of European dates with Queens of the Stone Age and Acid Bath, and also cryptically teased something after the tour ends in June 2026.
Could that be Sick New World 2026?
The 2025 edition of the festival was set to branch into other rock and metal subgenres – with Metallica, Queens of the Stone Age, Evanescence, Gojira, Acid Bath, and others slated to perform – before organizers canceled the festival due to "unforeseen circumstances."
