Shinedown announce ‘EI8HT’ and drop new single, map out massive world tour

After a couple years of relative quiet, Jacksonville rock heavyweights Shinedown are back with a new record. EI8HT is set to drop May 29 via Atlantic Records.

Alongside the announcement, the band have dropped a new track, “Safe and Sound." Listen:

Eighteen tracks deep, the album pulls in familiar cuts like “Dance, Kid, Dance”, “Three Six Five”, “Killing Fields”, and “Searchlight”, but it also hints at a broader, more ambitious swing than we’ve heard from them in a minute.

What stands out most this time isn’t just the scale, it’s who’s behind the boards. Bassist Eric Bass steps fully into the producer role, steering the project from the inside. Frontman Brent Smith made it clear this wasn’t just another studio cycle, it was a grind, a push, and ultimately a point of pride for the whole band. The way he talks about it, EI8HT feels less like a routine release and more like a statement of identity.

He had this to say about it:

“This album is over a year in the making. Without question, as a band, we pushed ourselves like never before. Especially when it comes to Eric. Myself, Zach, and Barry are so honoured to create, and work with such an extraordinary producer, engineer, mixer, songwriter, musician, performer, and band mate. We are so excited to finally announce our 8th studio album titled EI8HT alongside our Dance Kid Dance Act ll World Tour.”

On that note, they’re not keeping this confined to the studio. Shinedown are taking EI8HT global with the Dance Kid Dance Act II World Tour, a sprawling run that looks primed to hit just about everywhere that’ll have them. Find all those dates down below.
