Shaboozey has etched his name into Billboard history, as his hit "A Bar Song (Tipsy)" tied Lil Nas X’s "Old Town Road" (featuring Billy Ray Cyrus) for the longest reign at No. 1 on the Billboard Hot 100, holding the top spot for an impressive 19 weeks.
The 29-year-old artist, whose real name is Collins Obinna Chibueze, shared his excitement in a video posted by Billboard on November 25.
“I just wanted to say thank you to the fans, to everybody. We made history. Nineteen weeks at No. 1 on the Billboard Hot 100—it’s freakin’ incredible. Thank you so much for listening, buying, and supporting the song. Because of you guys, my life is forever changed.”
The milestone comes amidst a career-defining period for Shaboozey, who racked up five Grammy nominations for 2025. His duet with Beyoncé, "Spaghettii," earned a nod for Best Melodic Rap Performance, while "A Bar Song (Tipsy)" is in the running for Best Country Solo Performance, Best Country Song, and Song of the Year. Shaboozey is also vying for Best New Artist.
Last week saw Shaboozey was in the running for "Single Of The Year" and "New Artist Of The Year" for the 2024 CMA Awards, however, he was not chosen as a winner in either category.
