Shaboozey has become a household name at this point for his unique fusion of country and hip-hop, due to his smash-mega-hit, "A Bar Song (Tipsy)". The track, which pays homage to J-Kwon's 2004 song, "Tipsy," has dominated the Hot 100 charts, holding the #1 spot for eight consecutive weeks.
Today, September 6, Shaboozey showcased a live performance of "A Bar Song (Tipsy)" on Vevo, and you can watch that performance in full below.
The track is part of his album Where I’ve Been, Isn’t Where I’m Going, which takes listeners on a cinematic journey through the American West, adding a depth to his storytelling while he explores a country/folk-inspired sound. Hailing from Northern Virginia, Shaboozey draws inspiration from fellow DMV artists like Missy Elliot, Pharell, and Timbaland.
Through years of honing his craft, he gained mainstream recognition after collaborating with Beyonce on songs like "Sweet Honey Buckiin" and "Spaghetti." His solo hit "A Bar Song (Tipsy)" has amassed over 147 million global views in 2024, with "A Bar Song (Tipsy)" ranking as Vevo's top country video of the year.
Shaboozey said in a recent interview:
"I've been doing music for such a long time, I've put a lot of time and years into it. I put so much into it that I feel like it’s just cool to see it working. Everybody hopes it works. To see it actually working, it’s unreal."
