Sean Kingston held in federal custody after failing to pay bond

Sean Kingston is on house arrest after failing to pay a $100,000 cash bond, temporarily landing the "Beautiful Girls" singer back in federal custody.

Earlier this month, a Broward County jury found the 35-year-old and his mother, Janice Turner, guilty of wire fraud after they said he scammed businesses out of more than $1 million to obtain jewelry, luxury vehicles, and other high-end goods.

Confined to house arrest until he could make bail, Kingston said during a bond hearing that he could not afford the amount. U.S. Marshals then arrested Kingston and held him at the Federal Detention Center in Miami.

TMZ reports Kingston's attorney said he was in the process of getting released Tuesday, and the "Take You There" singer is no longer listed as an inmate in custody on the Federal Bureau of Prisons website.

Conditions of his release include returning to home detention with GPS monitoring, and he has to give up his passport, according to TMZ.

His convictions stem from a civil lawsuit filed by a company that claimed the entertainer used his celebrity status to obtain expensive items without paying.

"He is stealing the property itself. He has a standardized script that he gives people, which is that he’s a recording artist, that he certainly is, and that he wants to purchase these things, but he never pays for anything," attorney Dennis Card told WSVN-TV outside Kingston's home last May. "He gets the stuff, and that’s the end of the story. He does it over and over and over."

Kingston is due back in court for sentencing July 11.
